TPM took on the International Women’s Day Walking Challenge πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ

International Women’s Day is an important day to recognize and celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world. It’s a day to celebrate the progress that has been made and to inspire further action towards gender equality.

As a women-run business, we were passionate to help causes that reflected us and our values at TPM. After discussions with Duncan Galbraith founder of World Walking, we became involved in the Inverclyde International Women’s Day challenge. A challenge which saw us contribute towards a metaphorical walk to Rwanda from Inverclyde. All proceedings earned from our efforts would go directly to Aid for Education. A Scottish charity which supports income-generating projects, which sees Women in Rwanda gaining knowledge and means to start their own businesses, this in turn allows them to better provide for their families and generate a good sustainable income. The charity also funds education for children, aids with school material expenses and helps families gain access to health care.

Over the course of 60 days, we contributed to the 6000-mile walk to Rwanda. Through the sponsorship of our lovely clients, we managed to raise Β£305 and we can’t thank you enough for supporting us.

This challenge really encouraged us to get more active and got us out and about despite the rubbish Scottish weather. We are really proud to have contributed to such a great charity and felt it was made even more special as we completed the challenge among our community.
